Shetland forms the most northerly part of Scotland and the British Isles. With a rich history incorporating Pictish, Viking, and Scots influences, the Islands of Shetland are a popular visitor destination for those seeking to experience some of the rich cultural history evident throughout Shetland.

The new Shetland Museum in Lerwick, Shetland's port and main town, details the history of the Islands. Also situated in Lerwick is Glen Orchy House, a Scotland bed and breakfast establishment which offers a flexible selection of quality Scotland B&B accommodation options. A warm welcome is extended to visitors to Shetland.

Glen Orchy House was built in 1904, as a convent. Acquired by the present owners, Trevor and Joan Howarth in 1991 it has since seen a transformation into a quality Scotland bed and breakfast guest house.

Sympathetically renovated in keeping with the style of the property, yet providing all the contemporary features and facilities expected from modern visitor accommodation, Glen Orchy House offers the best of Scotland B&B hospitality.

There are 22 rooms at Glen Orchy House, incorporating double rooms, singles, twins and 4 family rooms, with either 3 single beds or twin beds and bunk bed. One of the twin rooms is on the ground floor with facilities for the disabled.

Guests staying in the new wing of Glen Orchy House can enjoy the underfloor heating, air conditioning, and satellite television. All the rooms benefit from en-suite facilities.

Breakfast is included and evening meals are available. Guests at Glen Orchy House are also welcome to relax in our non-smoking guest's lounge which features an 'honesty bar' and a selection of general and local-themed literature. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome at Glen Orchy House.
