This small, family-run Bed & Breakfast establishment is situated in the spectacular scenery of Glenshee, at the southern edge of the Grampian Mountains and on the main A93 route north from Perth to Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park.
The house sits close to the Shee Water, a notable salmon river, and within a few hundred metres of the Cateran Trail, which is a well-signed and maintained circular walking route of some 64 miles, covering some of the most beautiful hills and glens of Perthshire and Angus.
The guest accommodation comprises two comfortable double rooms with en-suite or private facilities. Graded "Four Star" by VisitScotland, the rooms are tastefully decorated and are equipped with digital satellite TV and full amenities. The house itself is a substantial stone-built former hunting lodge of the historic Dalhenzean Estate.
There is a spacious lounge for guests to relax in and admire the beautiful views that surround the lodge. Ample private parking is available. Dalhenzean Lodge is ideally situated as a base for a short-break holiday.
Easily and immediately accessible from the main north-south A93 route, it is nevertheless in a peaceful and tranquil area of outstanding scenic beauty. Within the immediate local area there are opportunities for every conceivable outdoor activity, including walking, fishing, shooting, pony-trekking and golf.
Scotland's highest golf course at Dalmunzie is just 3 miles away, while at the championship-qualifying course at Blairgowrie is within 30 minutes drive. In the winter there is skiing at Scotland's largest ski centre, 7 miles to the north.
Within easy "day excursion" range are the cities of Perth, Dundee, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, the beautiful coastal villages of Fife and Angus, and many of Scotland's most famous castles (including Balmoral, Glamis, Blair Castle and Scone Palace), plus 2000 square miles of Perthshire's finest highland scenery, the "Big Tree Country".
The standard room tariff is from £65 to £70 per night, with a reduction for children under 12. Pets may be permitted by prior arrangement. Early breakfasts and packed lunches can be provided, and speciality diets are catered for.
Finally, you are assured of a warm and friendly Highland Welcome and a comfortable and relaxing stay.
